What we work on
Our work runs across imaging, clinical outcomes, surgical technique, clinical AI, and population health — each grounded in the fractures we treat at a county trauma center.
-
AI in Medicine
We build and validate machine-learning and large-language-model tools across orthopaedic trauma — detecting and classifying fractures on radiographs and CT, and testing how reliably generative AI answers patient questions.

Trauma Outcomes
Using our county trauma registry and multi-center data, we study what actually changes outcomes after fracture — from earlier weight-bearing after pelvic ring injuries to complication patterns in high-energy trauma.

Population Health
Arrowhead is a safety-net trauma center, so we study the patients other registries tend to miss: how homelessness, primary language, and substance use relate to access, treatment, and recovery after orthopaedic injury.
